The coastal resorts of Denbighshire are perennially popular holiday destinations. Rhyl is everything that’s lively and exciting about the seaside, offering traditional seaside rides and amusements, including a lakeside miniature railway. In contrast, Prestatyn’s beaches are quieter than Rhyl and are set with a backdrop of the Clwydian Range (famous for its hill forts), which has been awarded an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for its wonderful walks and scenery. Denbighshire is internationally famous for the picturesque town of Llangollen, home of the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod. The River Clwyd winds down from Rhyl and is full of salmon and sea trout that can be fished at various beats. The Dee passes through in the south and can be fished around Corben and Newbridge
